The question arises as to why there’s so much imperfection in the world if the divine is present in all creation. There’s no denying the fact that there’s evil and suffering in the world. There are 8 billion people who are using their freewill to fufill their selfish desires. How can one expect perfection in the world that is driven by 8 billion people craving to fulfil their desires any which way?.
The world driven by lust, greed and rage, even if it is by a small percentage of people, causes enormous damage to the society. Very few commit crime but it has a disproportionate effect on the society, like a terrorist action. However, for every criminal there’s a policeman. Overall the good overpowers the bad over a long a period of time. However, evil will exists always and need to be fought continuously. The divine has no role to play as it is not an active participant in any action. The ‘divine will’ acts only if the individual does not block the divine will through his free will. But the individual hardly lets divine will to play. Therefore, looking for perfection in the world is too idealistic and a wrong expectation.
So how would a perfect one see the world. It is said that he would see everything in the world as a wonder.
It is a wonder
- That divine resides in everyone.
- That very few understand that, let alone realize that.
- That society has morality and ethics for conduct of its citizens and most follow that.
- That is hard for some people to follow ethics of conduct, leading them in evil actions.
- That there’s a price to pay for evil actions.
- That some evil people escape paying any price.
The perfect one is neither attached nor influenced by any event in the world. He understands that it is world’s nature to be born, change, decay and die and that process is beyond anyone to control. He is just a witness.
