Why does Divine not set the world right?

Divine Will is the Free Will of those who are realizing divinity within oneself and acting selflessly due to divine grace

Why does Divine not intervene and set things right in this world? The question arises due to wrong understanding of what divine is. Divine is not a thing or a person though incarnations are there. It is pure consciousness without any attributes. It just illumines everything – whether good, bad or ugly. It has no role whatsoever in anyone being one type or the other. It is a choice of that individual through his freewill. It is like Sun that illumines both filth and beauty without any preference for one over the other. Same as the space accommodating the evil and the good.

Then what is Divine will, as Will is a call for action? It could be possibly explained thus. The world has both impurity & purity and in different shades. There is a constant movement either in one direction or the other. A person can move towards good and another one move towards bad or evil. Seeking is moving from impurity to purity. When the movement is towards purity, the space of goodness keeps constantly expanding and the actions in that expanding space of goodness are positive and helpful towards the entire creation. As one enters that expanding space of goodness, the Will acts without any selfish expectations. Such actions are seen as occurring with the grace of the divine.

Divine could be visualized as the final point in the spectrum, which is pure, limitless and one without a second. The space towards the divine would be the space increasingly having those qualities. Thus, the world could be seen as a spread from the most impure to the most pure. Those that are closer to the divine end of the spectrum act in such a way that is in the good of the world, which is termed as divine will, as no selfish motive exists in such actions.

Ultimately, Divine will may be understood as the free will of those who are realizing divinity within oneself and acting selflessly. It could happen at all levels of the society irrespective of the social status. For example, a law enforcement official catching a criminal or even dying in the process. Why would a person offer himself to death unless there is a greater calling in him to protect the society. That’s a selfless act coming from goodness which is otherwise called divine. It depends on what an individual chose – divinity or evil.
