Love, happiness, peace, and beauty are all different expressions of the same fundamental feeling that arises from the True Self. Within the realm of the True Self, distinctions between these emotions fade away, as the True Self exists without characteristics or boundaries. When we refer to any of these emotions, we are actually referring to the same core essence — the True Self.
The Pure Expression of Beauty
These feelings are intrinsic to the True Self and its expression in its pure form is just “beauty”, that language cannot capture. Any attempt to describe or explain this beauty will erode the purity of that. This intrinsic beauty is a pure internal experience that one can settle into at one’s will anytime one chooses. Is that choice really that easy? Even before one chooses, one must be aware that such a choice exists. For many, this knowledge remains elusive, hidden by ignorance.
The Futile Attempt to find it in the World
Because this intrinsic beauty often goes unrecognized, people tend to seek love, happiness, peace, and beauty in external objects or relationships. These pursuits provide only fleeting satisfaction, demanding repeated attempts through different circumstances, events, or connections. Each external experience eventually comes to an end, leading to a cycle of unfulfillment.
The Eternal Nature of Intrinsic Beauty
In contrast, intrinsic beauty is an eternal reality — it is existence celebrating itself. It is an inherent aspect of being. All other emotions, whether positive or negative, are borrowed from the mind’s virtual creation and exist only temporarily as they are thought created states. These emotions fade as thoughts dissipate, leaving behind only memories. Pleasant memories create a desire to recreate those emotions through worldly interactions, while unpleasant memories lead to aversion and avoidance of similar experiences.
For those who are fortunate to understand that these emotions are fleeting and once the knowledge dawns that love, happiness, peace, and beauty are intrinsic to oneself, the need to seek them in the world dissolves. In this realization lies true beauty and freedom.
